Event Overview

AI is being used in all parts of the journalism process from news gathering to production and distribution. There are risks that can arise at various stages of AI deployment and in different stages of the news process. How might we design a clear set of guidelines to mitigate these risks in our news organizations?

In this workshop, Uli Köppen of Bayerischer Rundfunk and Claire Leibowicz of Partnership on AI shared their experiences and ran through a set of questions to reflect on before beginning to create similar guidelines. At the end of the workshop, participants were equipped with the knowledge to begin creating guidelines for the use of AI and automation in their own news organization.
