Advancing Responsible AI Practices in Fintech: Partnership on AI Welcomes Its Newest Partner, Intuit
The Partnership on AI (PAI) today announced the newest member to the global, multi-sector organization: Intuit, the global technology platform that helps consumers and small businesses overcome their most important financial challenges.
Intuit has been on the front lines of deploying AI at scale with its cornerstone brands – TurboTax, QuickBooks, Mint, Credit Karma and Mailchimp – to more than 100 million customers worldwide. Using AI, the company helps its customers make insightful financial decisions by automating, predicting and personalizing their experiences.
As the only partner in the fintech sector, Intuit will become a key contributor to PAI in support of its mission to drive positive outcomes for people and society with AI by bringing together diverse voices across sectors, disciplines, and borders.
“We are thrilled to welcome Intuit to our global partner community,” said Rebecca Finlay, CEO at Partnership on AI. “PAI provides a unique forum for leading technology companies like Intuit to connect with a community of academic, civil society, and media organizations as well as other industry partners to identify today’s most urgent AI issues. By coming together to not only identify these issues, but develop and deploy resources to address them, we can collectively take action towards a world where AI is designed and deployed to benefit people and society.”
“We’re delighted to work alongside other innovative PAI member companies who are equally committed to creating a more responsible and equitable AI future,” said Intuit Chief Data Officer, Ashok Srivastava. “As AI becomes increasingly intertwined with our daily lives, we recognize its potential to deliver tremendous value, as well as its potential to cause unintended consequences. Like PAI, we believe AI should be designed and used responsibly to help people, and that we’re stronger as a collective in tackling the most pressing AI challenges. We’re well-aligned to PAI’s mission and look forward to sharing learnings and best practices for deploying AI for good.”
Specifically, Intuit will contribute to the following two-part PAI program:
- Fairness, Transparency and Accountability (FTA) – research and programming that examines the intersections between AI and fundamental values, to tackle urgent questions regarding algorithmic equity, explainability, responsibility, and inclusion.
- ABOUT ML (Annotation and Benchmarking on Understanding and Transparency of Machine Learning Lifecycles) – an initiative that aims to operationalize fairness, transparency and accountability insights through full-cycle documentation and transparency practices for machine learning systems at scale; such documentation and transparency is key to identifying and correcting any issues that may result in unintended harmful impacts. This will include ongoing work on the ABOUT ML Reference Document and other resources around implementing documentation best practices for the industry.

About Partnership on AI
Partnership on AI (PAI) is a non-profit partnership of academic, civil society, industry, and media organizations creating solutions so that AI advances positive outcomes for people and society. By convening diverse, international stakeholders, we seek to pool collective wisdom to make change. We are not a trade group or advocacy organization. We develop tools, recommendations, and other resources by inviting voices from across the AI community and beyond to share insights that can be synthesized into actionable guidance. We then work to drive adoption in practice, inform public policy, and advance public understanding. Through dialogue, research, and education, PAI is addressing the most important and difficult questions concerning the future of AI.
