European Steering Committee
Europe is at a pivotal moment in shaping the future of AI. As generative and agentic AI systems advance and new governance frameworks emerge, the region faces pressing questions about how to maximize benefits while safeguarding society. To address this, PAI is bringing together independent, interdisciplinary experts to deepen shared understanding of emerging capabilities, risks, and opportunities.
About the Steering Committee
The Steering Committee convenes leaders from academia, civil society, and industry to examine how evolving AI technologies intersect with Europe’s social, technical, and governance ecosystems. By surfacing patterns and cross-cutting themes across these issues, the Committee informs PAI’s strategy, programs, and partnerships in the region.
The Committee meets regularly to advise on PAI’s work in Europe, including implementation of the EU Code of Practice, emerging accountability tools, and the implications of new generative and agentic AI capabilities. Its mandate is to help build an evidence-driven view of Europe’s AI landscape and to recommend actions that advance responsible AI development across the EU and UK. Read the full announcement here.
