In 2025, EXL, a global data and AI company, participated in a cohort that met regularly as a Responsible AI Community of Practice. Led by Chief Executives for Corporate Purpose (CECP), Provoc, and Partnership on AI, the cohort engaged senior corporate HR and technology leaders in monthly learning sessions to provide feedback and assist in integrating change in their companies. EXL developed a structured survey process to integrate employee feedback into its AI governance framework. By enlisting the support of external partners and internal experts on responsible AI, EXL was able to gather and act upon employee feedback to improve its AI governance processes.

EXL’s case study reveals both the promise and the practical considerations of embedding worker perspectives into AI governance at scale. While companies can win real improvements in compliance and innovation by listening to employees, sustaining that dialogue requires ongoing commitment from leadership.
