PAI’s five-year plan to advance responsible AI business practices that serve the public interest
AI is advancing at extraordinary speed, from foundation models to increasingly autonomous agents, while governance, assurance, and evidence of impact struggle to keep pace. No single sector can meet this challenge alone.
For ten years, PAI has brought together the people building AI and the people living with its consequences. Shared Stakes, Lasting Impact sets out how we will put that community to work over the next five years, creating the conditions for AI that is built inclusively, governed accountably, and operated fairly, transparently, reliably, and securely.

Trustworthy AI across the Value Chain
AI reaches the world through complex global value chains, where decisions at one stage cascade through the entire system. Over the next five years, PAI will create the conditions to verify and incentivize responsible actors at every stage, aligning incentives toward beneficial outcomes while protecting against harms where they emerge. Our two focus areas show what this approach delivers in the real world.
Where We Focus
How We Will Get There
Our renewed theory of change moves from discovery to guidance to scale.
Advisory groups of global multistakeholder Partners identify where trust must be built across the AI value chain. Together we develop frameworks, tools, and best practices. Then we foster capability in business, policy, and civil society, and measure progress for fieldwide improvement.
